The Children of Fire Emblem Fates

As I’ve already talked about at length, breeding the characters in your army is a big part of Fire Emblem Fates. But which parents create which children, you may wonder. To answer that, let’s first look at the ground rules of breeding in Fire Emblem Fates. It is the father—not the mother—that determines which child is born. However, the child’s hair holy rummy color will always be inherited from the mother. There are two exceptions to this clearly defined father/child link: Female Corrin and Azura each have their own unique child—in addition to the child of the man each falls in love with. While there are 24 adult male playable main characters across the three versions of the game, only 19 produce unique offspring. (Though any main character—male, female, or child—can breed with a Corrin of the opposite sex to produce her aforementioned child.)
